I. Preface


The HM6050C cable break detector produced by our factory is especially suitable for fast and accurate positioning of cable-to-ground insulation faults, (live) path finding, and deep positioning.

The cable break detector is designed based on the electromagnetic induction method and the application of the communication principle. Contains more user-friendly design in use. The large-screen LCD displays the signal strength, and the bars, arrows and voice prompts make it easy for the operator to determine the location of the cable underground and the point of failure. One person can complete all operations.

The cable break detector can be used to find the cable (live or uncharged) path, and it can also be used to find the direct buried cable fault. It can complete tasks that were only possible with the past few sets of instruments.

The traditional cable fault location concept has been changed. There is no need for high-voltage test equipment, no need to use AC power, no need to analyze the waveform, the wiring is simple and clear, and the method of use is easy to learn.

In the past, when we searched for the cable path, we had to test the power failure of the cable, and some running cables could not be powered off. Using it can easily solve the problem of finding the path of live cables. It can also directly find the path of the 50Hz live cable.

II. Working principle


HM6050C series cable break detector uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to detect the precise direction and depth of underground cables and locate the open circuit, short circuit and fault points of the cable. It has become the easiest cable break detector to use today. The transmitter's built-in ohmmeter can automatically measure the loop resistance and continuous automatic output impedance matching to ensure the best matching signal. For the cable fault test, this instrument can apply the step voltage method and use the direct-buried cable fault test accessory ("A" frame) to determine the cable-to-ground fault and the cable sheath where the insulation resistance of the direct-buried cable is less than 2M ohms. Fault location; signal strength method can also be used to judge cable open circuit and short circuit faults. Using the coupling clamp, you can find the path of the live cable, use the 50Hz detection function of the receiver, and track the 50Hz power frequency signal sent by the running cable. It is truly multi-purpose and has the best performance-price ratio.

The basic working principle is: electromagnetic signals are generated by the transmitter, and the signals are transmitted to the underground cable under test through different transmission connection methods. After the electromagnetic signal is induced by the underground cable, an induced current is generated on the cable, and the induced current follows the direction of the cable. In the process of current propagation, electromagnetic waves are radiated to the ground through the underground cable. In this way, when the cable break detector is detected on the ground, the electromagnetic wave signal will be received on the ground above the cable. The signal strength changes to distinguish the location, direction and fault of the underground cable.
