HM6012 The lightning arrester online detector is used for the measurement and analysis of zinc oxide [MOA] leakage current. It is mainly used to measure resistive current, 3-7th harmonic current, so as to analyze the degree of zinc oxide aging and moisture. It is a special instrument for testing various AC electrical parameters in the operation of zinc oxide arresters, and can also be used in the laboratory to make factory and acceptance tests.
Instrument features
1. Various voltage reference signal sampling methods:
Wired synchronization: Take the signal from the PT end metering winding, and the digital signal is transmitted by wire.
Wireless synchronization: Take the signal from the PT end to measure the winding phase B, and the digital signal is transmitted wirelessly, eliminating the need for long-distance cable connection.
Induction plate synchronization: It is not necessary to get the signal from the PT terminal, and the voltage signal is obtained from the induction board installed on the B-phase base of the zinc oxide arrester.
No voltage synchronization: No need to take the signal from the PT terminal, and find the voltage reference by software calculation.
2. Voltage signal and current signal (input impedance lower than 1Ω) are completely isolated to ensure the reliability and safety of data.
3. This instrument can measure three times simultaneously, and automatically calculates without compensation.

Precautions
1. Before each test, connect the instrument and the ground firmly.
2. When taking the reference voltage from the PT or the measuring terminal of the test transformer, carefully check the wiring to avoid short circuit of the PT secondary or test voltage.
3. Be careful not to connect the current and voltage sampling lines wrongly during the connection process.
4. When testing in the laboratory, the high-voltage power supply can not use the series test transformer.
5. There is a battery indicator on the interface of the instrument. When the battery is low, please charge it in time to avoid affecting the use.
6. When the instrument is not used for a long time, it needs to be charged and maintained regularly. (Once a month)

The main problems in the operation of zinc oxide arresters
1. Since the zinc oxide arrester has cancelled the series gap, it bears the system voltage and current flows for a long time. The active component of the current generates heat on the valve plate, which induces changes in the volt-ampere characteristics. The long-term effect will cause the valve plate to age and even thermal breakdown.
2. When the zinc oxide arrester is used by impulse voltage, the valve plate will also age under the action of impulse voltage energy.
3. Moisture inside the zinc oxide arrester or poor insulation performance will increase the power frequency current, increase the power consumption, and cause internal discharge in severe cases.
4. The zinc oxide arrester is polluted by rain, snow, condensation or dust. Due to the difference of internal and external electricity release, there is a relatively potential difference between the internal valve plate and the external porcelain sleeve, resulting in radial discharge.
This tester mainly checks the following aspects
1. Thermal breakdown of zinc oxide arrester
The ultimate cause of thermal breakdown of the zinc oxide arrester generator is that its heating power is greater than its heat dissipation power. The heating power of the zinc oxide valve plate depends on the current and voltage (current is the active component of the current flowing through the valve plate).
2. Moisture inside the zinc oxide arrester
If the seal is not tight, it will cause moisture inside the arrester or moisture ingress during installation, which will cause the arrester to increase the total current under voltage. When damp to a certain extent, discharge along the surface of the zinc oxide valve disc or the inner wall of the porcelain sleeve will occur, causing the arrester to explode.
The increase in the total current caused by the damp of the zinc oxide lightning arrester is caused by the increase in the resistive leakage current. It can be inferred whether it is damp or not by detecting the change of the viewing angle.
In summary, the above faults can be reflected by changes in resistive leakage current. Knowing the changes in the resistive leakage current of zinc oxide, such as lightning arresters, can predict whether the above-mentioned failures will occur.
