Application/Suitability
1. Remove steps from end of mould. The opening must be slightly larger than the cable diameter( approx. 1 - 2 mm).
2. Insertion of cable sheath: φ <20mm: a=2 x c φ >20mm: a=40 mm .
3.Install connectors.
4.Roughen, degrease and clean the cable sheaths.
5.Centre the splice: The distance between the connectors, and between the conductors themselves,as well as the splicing of each from the mould must be at least 5 mm.
6.Snap mould halves together.
7.Seal mould ends with PVC tape.
8.Mix the cast resin and fill in according to separate instructions up to 3 mm from upper edge of filler opening.
9.Insert cover.
10.Energizing of cables: Up to 1 kV immediately after casting.
Additional Instructions
Core insulation of PE, VPE, EPR etc.
11. Roughen, degrease and clean cable insulation.
PILC cables
12. With armouring and jute: insert 20 mm of armouring into mould; do not insert any jute. With synthetic sheath: roughen, degrease and clean the cable sheath; insert for 20 mm into mould.
13. Insert lead sheath (a) as item 2. Roughen degrease and clean lead sheath and armouring thoroughly immediately before locking the mould halves.
14. Remove insulating material completely from conductor and belt insulation.
Fluid insulating material: Cover filler and paper insulation with Oilstop/ Adhesive agent.
