Description of ACSR Bare Overhead Conductor:

ACSR bare overhead conductor consists of one or more concentric layers of aluminium and steel wire , having a solid stranded steel wire at the centre and the peripheral layer of aluminium wires.

Construction

Aluminum 1350 wires and the steel cores are concentrically stranded and wrapped helically around a central wire. The additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the cores or infusion of the complete cable with grease

ACSR bare overhead conductor is mostly used for medium and high voltage overhead transmission lines ranging from 500kv and above. And ACSR bare overhead conductor is suitable for use in all practical spans on wood poles, transmission towers,ａnd other structures.
