Application of Overhead AACSR:

The Aluminum Alloy Conductor Steel Reinforced(AACSR) with high strength are used in river crossing conductors, transmission of power through over head ground wires on long span installations against any given resistance of conductor. It can be used as large span conductor, heavy ice wire or overhead communications wire, ground wire. Temperature for continuous use can be up to 90 ℃. Temperature of heat-resistant AACSR can be up to 150 ℃ and above. It has high current carrying capacity.

AACSR (Aluminum Alloy Conductor Steel Reinforced) manufactured by Asian Sun meets or exceeds the requirements of all international standards like ASTM, AS, BS, CSA, DIN, IEC, NFC, SS etc.AACSR has also a long service record because of its economy, dependability, and strength to weight ratio. The combined light weight and high conductivity of aluminum with strength of the steel cores enable higher tensions, less sag, and longer spans than any alternative as like as ACSR.

Construction of Overhead AACSR:

(1)Steel part: Zinc- coated steel wires, one or multi-wires concentric stranded

(2)Aluminium alloy part: Aluminium alloy wires, concentric stranded

Aluminum Alloy Conductor Steel Reinforced is a concentrically stranded conductor with a high-strength coated steel core. The core can be single wire or stranded according to their size. And AACSR is composed of one or more layers of 6201-T81 aluminum alloy wire stranded.

The ratio of aluminum alloy and steel can be varied to obtain the relationship between current carrying capacity and mechanical strength that is most suitable for each application. And the core for AACSR is available with Class A, B or C-galvanized, aluminized (AZ) or aluminum clad (AW).
