About Motor Winding
The difference between wound motor and squirrel cage motor
Asynchronous motor is an AC motor that converts electromechanical energy into mechanical energy by the interaction of air gap rotating magnetic field and rotor winding induced current to generate electromagnetic torque. Asynchronous motors are divided into wound type and squirrel-cage motors according to the rotor winding form.
The wound motor is mainly composed of two parts: the stator and the rotor.
The stator is the fixed part of the motor, and its function is to generate a rotating magnetic field. It is composed of electronic components such as stator core, stator winding and base.
The rotor is the rotating part of the motor. Its function is to obtain the rotational torque under the action of the rotating magnetic field. It is composed of electronic components such as the rotor iron core, the rotor winding and the rotating shaft. Rotors can be divided into wound rotors and squirrel-cage rotors according to different structures.
The difference between wound motor and squirrel cage motor:
1. Winding motor with rotor slip ring; squirrel cage motor without rotor slip ring
2. The rotor of the wound motor is made of copper wire, and the end is connected to the starting control device through the slip ring; the rotor winding of the squirrel cage motor is a short-circuit winding.
