On the correct use of three-phase asynchronous motors
1. The deviation between the power supply voltage applied to the motor and the rated voltage should not exceed 5%, so that the output power of the motor can maintain the rated value.
2. The motor with delta connection should be changed to star connection when running at light load. Due to light load operation, the power factor is low. If the star connection is changed, the phase voltage of the motor windings will be reduced to the original l/√3, and the magnetic flux in the iron core will also be reduced to the original 1/√3, so the reactive current will be significantly reduced and the power factor will be improved .
3. When the rated voltage of the motor is 220/380 volts, and the motor is connected in a star shape and used on a 380 volt power supply, do not connect the star neutral point to the motor shell. During normal operation, the neutral point potential is 0. If a phase fuse is blown, the neutral point potential rises. If the neutral point is connected to the shell, the potential of the shell to the ground is not equal to zero, which brings the risk of unsafe electric shock.
4. After the large cage motor is started, the stator and rotor windings have already heated up, and it is not allowed to start again when it is heated. At the beginning of the start (cold state), it is impossible to start continuously, and a second start is required at appropriate intervals. If you want to start continuously or frequently, you must minimize the starting current.
5. The electric sweeper on the crane cannot be braked by reverse connection, but can only be braked by electromagnetic machinery. This is because if the motor on the crane frequently starts and stops, it needs frequent braking. The reverse braking current is large and the motor is easy to burn.
6. The wound rotor motor cannot be adjusted by changing the number of poles. Changing the number of pole pairs requires both the stator and the rotor to change the number of pole pairs at the same time. When the number of stator poles of a squirrel cage motor changes, the number of rotor poles automatically changes, while the number of rotor poles of a wound motor can only be changed by connecting the rotor windings. Therefore, the winding motor generally does not need to change the pole pair method to accelerate.
