What will happen to the motor running at high altitude?
Plateau motors operate at high altitudes, due to low air pressure, poor heat dissipation conditions, and losses will increase and operating efficiency will decrease. Therefore, the same, the rated electromagnetic load and heat dissipation design of motors running at different altitudes are different. For motors that are not high-altitude specifications, it is best to reduce the load appropriately. Otherwise, the life and performance of the motor will be affected, and even burn out in a short time. Measures should be taken for the adverse effects of the plateau on the operation of the motor. The plateau motor operates at a high altitude. Due to low air pressure, poor heat dissipation conditions, and losses will increase, the operating efficiency will be reduced. Therefore, the same, the rated electromagnetic load and heat dissipation design of motors running at different altitudes are different. For motors that are not high-altitude specifications, it is best to reduce the load appropriately. Otherwise, the life and performance of the motor will be affected, and even burn out in a short time.
1. The cooling effect of the air medium decreases, the heat dissipation capacity decreases, and the temperature rise increases. For every 1000M increase, the temperature rise will increase by 3-10%, so the temperature rise limit must be revised.
2. The higher the altitude, the greater the temperature rise of the motor, the smaller the output power. But when the temperature decreases with the increase in altitude enough to compensate for the influence of altitude on temperature rise, the rated output power of the motor can be unchanged;
3. The corona initiation voltage is reduced, and anti-corona measures should be taken when high-voltage motors are used on plateaus;
4. The altitude is unfavorable for the commutation of the DC motor, so pay attention to the selection of carbon brush materials.
5. Cause the insulation strength to decrease: for every 1000 meters, the insulation strength will decrease by 8-15%.
6. The breakdown voltage of the electrical gap decreases, so the electrical gap should be increased according to the altitude.
