Compact, modular and expandable
The HIRSCH Mx Controller is available in three models: 2, 4, and 8 fully supervised doors, respectively, each using the original M2 enclosure. For convenience, mounting points have been added internally for cable management. An Mx-8 is approximately 40% of the size of an M8, and weighs a lot less too!
The CCMx is the heart of the Mx Controller and the specific CCMx installed enables the requisite number of doors on the board. To upgrade an Mx Controller you simply swap the CCMx (and the battery for an Mx-2 to Mx-4 upgrade). Kits are available that provide the CCMx, connectors and battery (if required). Upgrades just got easier to sell!
For retrofit applications there are three kits available. Take an M2 and convert it to Mx-2 or Mx-8, or take an M8 and convert it to an Mx-8 (see pricelist for details).
Integrated Ethernet
The SNIB2 communications board is an integral part of he Mx Controller providing both 10/100 Ethernet and RS485 ports. The main communication board is removable to allow for a number of planned upgrades already firmly in the development plan for Mx. Firmware for the SNIB2 functionality is downloaded to the controller just like a conventional DIGI*Trac controller.
Onboard MATCH™
Two new microprocessors are designed into the Mx architecture. One of these micros processes credential payloads from the Wiegand reader ports on the Mx Controller. This allows a credential to be configured for use on ScramblePads, through MATCH2 interfaces or when connected directly to the board. Most typical Wiegand outputs can quickly be configured in Velocity to align with the physical settings found on the MATCH.
Future Expansion
In addition to the plans to rapidly evolve the Ethernet capabilities, the Mx includes designed-in capability to use certificate-based authentication between controller and supported readers using hardware encryption (note: initial shipments will not ship with this hardware functionality).
