Compression Springs are open-coil helical springs to against compression along the axis.
Usually, the helical compression springs are placed on the rod or installed in the hole. When apply a load to the compression coil spring to shorten it, it will react on the load and try to return to its original length.
The most common compression spring is straight coil spring with the same diameter throughout its length. Other configuration options for compression springs include concave and convex.
The ground end provides flatness and stability. Although open ends may be suitable for some applications, closed ends provide greater squareness.
