Series reactor, also known as detuning reactor, is used for reactive power compensation. It is generally used in series with the capacitor, which is capacitive in industrial frequency, to prevent parallel resonance harmonic current. It can suppress higher harmonics and limit inrush current; improve power factor; prevent the harm caused by harmonic capacitor and avoid the over amplification and resonance of power grid harmonic caused by the connection of capacitor device.
