XLPE is the abbreviation of cross-linked polyethylene. In this type of cable stranded aluminum or copper conductor is screened in the form of semiconducting extrusion providing a smooth conducting surface. XLPE insulated power cable also resists the formation of cavities at the conductor surface. It is the form of a cross-link poly-phone. What's more, it has remarkable moisture resistance and high chemical resistance. The property of high thermal insulation makes it more suitable to use in both high voltage & temperature conditions.

Application

XLPE insulated power cable, also named low voltage XLPE insulated power cable, is used to transmit and distribute power in power transmission and distribution systems of 1kV or lower. It is generally applied to the fields including power, mines, construction, metallurgy, petrochemical industry, and communication.

Construction

1. The highest allowed operating temperature of the conductor for long-term working is ≤90℃.

2. In a short circuit (Max long term is no more than 5 seconds), the highest temperature for the conductor is ≤ 250℃.

3. The cable is laid without a horizontal drop limit. The environment temperature should be no lower than 0 when lying. Otherwise, it should be preheated.

4. The XLPE insulated power cable features excellent electrical performance and resistance to chemical corrosion.
