How does DC motor maintain?
1. Short-term maintenance
The on-site working conditions of the steel rolling enterprise are relatively harsh. If the maintenance is improper, the commutation of the DC motor will become worse. The carbon brushes are optimized according to the actual working conditions on site, and the carbon brushes are adjusted correctly to restore the normal commutation of the motor and ensure the normal operation of the motor.
2. Selection of carbon brush
The selection of carbon brushes should be optimized based on technical parameters such as material category, resistivity, density, allowable current density, allowable speed, bending strength, and hardness.
For example, a Z450-4B DC motor has a rated power of 700kW, a rated current of 1240A, and a maximum speed of 1400r/min. The actual load of the motor is 90% of the rated value. The carbon brush of a certain brand originally equipped with the machine has oily surface during use, and a black carbon film appears on the surface of the commutator. The carbon brush wears a lot and has a service life of less than one month. After analysis, a carbon brush with higher resistivity, density, flexural strength, allowable current density and linear speed than the original was selected. After running-in, a good oxide film is re-formed on the surface of the commutator, and the service life of the carbon brush has reached about half a year.
