The effect of punching on motor performance
Punch size is given by design. The following discusses the factors that affect the quality in manufacturing under the condition that the design remains unchanged.
2.3 Insulation between silicon steel sheets
The insulation between silicon steel sheets can suppress eddy currents in the iron core, thereby reducing the resulting eddy current losses (which are included in the iron losses). The insulating layer between chips is formed in the following three ways:
(1) The inter-chip insulation composed of the paint film that comes with the cold-rolled silicon steel sheet;
(2) The motor manufacturer applies insulating paint on the punching sheet without paint film;
(3) Oxidize the punched sheet to form an insulating layer in a motor manufacturer.
