Motor disassembly and maintenance
1. Disassembly of the motor
Before disassembling the motor, first unplug the lead wire between the motor and the controller. At this time, be sure to record the one-to-one correspondence between the color of the motor lead wire and the color of the controller lead wire. Clean the work area before opening the motor end cover to prevent debris from being attracted to the magnets in the motor. Mark the position of the end cap relative to the hub. Note: Be sure to loosen the screws diagonally to avoid deformation of the motor housing.
The radial gap between the rotor and the stator of the motor is called the air gap (air gap). Generally, the air gap of the motor is between 0.25-0.8mm. This can prevent the sweeping phenomenon after secondary assembly.
2. Lubrication of motor internal gears
If the running noise of the brushed and geared hub motor and the brushless geared hub motor starts to become louder, or the gears in the motor are replaced, all the tooth surfaces of the gears should be covered with grease, generally use No. 3 grease or the manufacturer-specified grease lubricating oil.
3. Assembly of the motor
Before assembling the brushed motor, please check the elasticity of the spring in the brush holder, check whether the carbon brush and the brush holder are rubbed, check whether the carbon brush can reach the maximum stroke in the brush holder, and pay attention to the correct positioning of the carbon brush and the commutator , so as not to jam the carbon brush or brush holder.
When installing the motor, the impurities on the surface of the motor parts should be cleaned first, so as not to affect the normal operation of the motor, and the hub body must be fixed firmly to prevent the parts from colliding and damaging each other due to the strong attraction of the magnetic steel during installation.
