Standard and classification of motor IP protection grade
The motor IP protection level is composed of two groups of numbers: the first group of numbers represents the level of the motor from dust and the intrusion of foreign objects; the second group of numbers represents the degree of airtightness of the motor against moisture and water intrusion. The larger the number, the higher the protection level. The motor protection grade adopts the IP×× grade standard recommended by IEC, and the grade is different for different installation places. The IP protection rating system was drafted by the IEC, and the motors are classified according to their dust and moisture resistance characteristics. In the grade standard, "××" is a two-digit number, the first digit indicates the protection level against solids, and the second digit indicates the protection level against liquids. There are 7 protection levels for solids, which are represented by 0-6 levels respectively; there are 9 protection levels for liquids, which are represented by 0-8 levels respectively.
