How does DC motor maintain?
Preventive maintenance
Some short-term maintenance methods can eliminate sudden commutation failures of DC motors, but in order to ensure long-term stable and reliable operation of DC motors, preventive and periodic maintenance is necessary.
Regular inspection and maintenance can reduce the maintenance cost of the motor failure and keep the motor in good running condition. Table 3 is the regular maintenance schedule of the DC motor, which can also be appropriately modified according to the actual operation and working conditions of the DC motor.
In order to maintain the good commutation performance of the DC motor, the carbon brushes should be checked and replaced daily from the following aspects.
(1) Confirm that the carbon brush braid screws are fastened, and the braid does not affect the free movement of the carbon brush;
(2) Ensure that the carbon brush braid does not touch the non-insulated part of the motor;
(3) Check whether the carbon brush can move freely in the brush holder, the position of the spring must be correct and the function is normal;
(4) The distance between the brush holder and the commutator surface should be the same;
(5) When changing the carbon brush type, all carbon brushes must be replaced at the same time, and it is not allowed to mix carbon brushes of different brands and materials.
(6) Before and after adjustment or replacement of carbon brushes, the operating conditions of the motor must be tracked and observed;
(7) The replaced carbon brushes should be suitable for the surface curve of the commutator.
The surface of the commutator should be cleaned with dry and pure compressed air, and liquid solvents should not be used, otherwise it will cause ablation of the commutator surface, mica, glass latitude belt and other materials. Industrial alcohol should also be avoided.
When the latitude belt of the commutator glass seeps into the dirt, the voltage between the sheets acts on the dirt, and current flows through it, generating heat and burning. The burnt latitude belt is easy to break under the action of winding tension and damage the internal device. Therefore, once the non-weft belt is found to be burned, it must be replaced.
The commutator has slight stripes or grooves and can be ground or polished. The commutator can be wiped with a clean coarse cloth, which is conducive to the formation and maintenance of the commutator oxide film.
When the surface of the commutator is abnormally rough, there are deep strip and groove-like abrasion marks, the noise is loud during the reversing, the reversing spark is serious, or the carbon brush wear is aggravated, it is necessary to rotate the commutator.
