  • 2-PC 90 Degree Ball Valve
  • Size 1/2″-4″
  • Max work temperature; -10℃-120℃
  • Max work pressure;40 bar
  • Media; Water; Seawater;
  • 600 WOG
  • Valve bodies are made of brass for rust protection and long service life, durable, and easy to use.
  • Ball valves are durable, performing well after many cycles, and reliable, closing securely even after long periods of disuse.
  • This thread ball valve has minimal flow resistance, and the closing piece can withstand the high-pressure difference during closing.
  • The valve can realize fast opening and closing, compact structure, small size, and lightweight.
  • Ball valves can control the flow including water, oil, and gas between pipes, tubes, or hoses.
  • Why do we use ball valves?
  • They may be considered general-purpose flow control valves used for high-temperature applications. As the name suggests, ball valves are valves that use a ball to control the flow of substances from one opening to the next
drawing of ball valves
drawing of ball valves

A 2-piece full port ball valve consists of two independent components. They are connected by a threaded, flanged, or bolt connection. They come in two pieces. One with an end and a body, and the other with a perfect fit into the first. They are holding the trim in place and providing the second-end connection. However, these two places are prone to leaking. They have the advantage of making disassembly much quicker. Which might help do quick replacements. These valves can provide bidirectional flow and quick shutoff due to this.

Two sections of the valve body always hold a 2-piece ball valve to keep the ball in place. The seal is superior to that of a 1-piece ball valve. The cleaning is a little more complicated. The tightness of the bolts in the center is crucial, as it determines whether there is leakage. For high-pressure applications, we cannot recommend a two-piece ball valve.

The flow rate is always regulated by opening or closing the valve. Because it enables flow in any direction from intake to exit, it’s also known as a 2-way ball valve. Threaded ball valves are simple to install and operate. They don’t need any special tooling. The two-piece full ball valve is the most cost-effective. It allows the pipe’s interior diameter to stay constant and uncontrolled.

Working principle of full port ball valve:

The ball is always forced against the valve seat in the opening process of a 2-piece ball valve. The valve stem’s mechanical pressure is close. When the handwheel spines in the counterclockwise direction. The valve rod moves in the opposite direction. It causes the ball to break away from the valve seat due to the angular plane at its bottom. The valve stem continues to raise and interacts with the guide pin in the valve stem’s screw groove to allow the ball to rotate. The valve rod touched the limit position until it reached the fully open position. Here the ball spins to the fully open position.

To close the 2- pieces, a full port ball valve turns the wheel clockwise. The valve stem will begin to descend, and the ball will leave the valve seat and begin to revolve. Continue to rotate the handwheel. The guide pin embedded in the screw groove on the handwheel affects the valve rod. It is causing the valve rod and the ball to rotate 90 degrees. The ball has moved 90 degrees without touching the valve seat before closing. The angular plane at the bottom of the valve rod is mechanically jammed in the final few spins of the handwheel. It presses the ball against the valve seat and achieves complete sealing.
